Friday, February 1, 2019 the Arte Spazio Tempo gallery, with the support of the Gea Association, is pleased to present “Da Dentro”, a solo exhibition by Francesca De Pieri, a young Venetian photographer born in 1977.
The exhibition, curated by Martina Campese, presents to the public a series of unpublished shots that accompany a corpus of photographs that have initiated the photographic project “Da Dentro”.
Since 2013 De Pieri has begun to investigate the concept of presence / absence creating a sort of autobiographical account in which his own image, elusive, evanescent and blurred, manages to translate an inner status and a mourning linked to the loss of a loved one.

The photography becomes the pen of a “personal diary” that initially tells the story of the artist whose reflections focus on feelings and feelings really experienced, such as illness, detachment and lack. The collection of photographs develops later and, these feelings and sensations, become part of a “universal diary” of life whose reading is addressed to everyone and in which it is possible to recognize oneself.

There is a constant element in the project that has slowly taken on a preponderant meaning of positivism towards existence, the flowers. They are a link, accompanying the common gesture of farewell and greeting, but also positive events like birth, love. However, they are the extreme representation of the brevity of life, symbols of natural and inevitable passages. Present in decorative form, in the clothes and in the furnishing elements, the flowers are elements theatrical presences in the construction of the framing of the photographs, all taken inside the house. The floral element is a constant not only in the project “Da Dentro”, but of most of the artistic activity of Francesca De Pieri, nature, in fact, pervades its works.

The artist’s research focuses mainly on photographic overlap and the production of images in double print. The synthesis work that is presented in this project is the result of a long journey started in 2006 with the Memory Box_Father’s Life in which are represented a series of places that preserve the memory of the presence / absence of the father figure. The image overlay technique creates an immersive 3D effect which accentuates and broadens the sensation of memory and memory.

Francesca De Pieri’s photographs investigate an interior fabric made of simplicity and daily life through a simple and explanatory language, capable of becoming universal as it belongs to the normality of life. Da Dentro shows, with a calibrated aesthetic, the poetic and profound skills of the artist.
